Spring Rewind ST-Series Hose Reel Overview

The ST-Series is a spring rewind hose reel for organised hose storage and controlled retrieval in industrial work areas. It may be considered for air, water, lubrication and selected hydraulic duties when the complete reel, hose, swivel, seal and connection configuration has been checked against the operating conditions.

The internal spring provides rewind force as the hose is returned to the reel. Operators should guide the hose during retraction and keep clear of the reel path. The ratchet and locking behaviour must be understood before use; uncontrolled retraction can damage equipment or cause injury.

ST-Series Design and Construction

Frame, guide and roller arrangement

The published ST-Series description lists an all-steel compact construction, bolted assembly, dual-frame support, guide plate, ball bearings, heat-treated spring, ratchet and four-way roller assembly. Powder coating is also listed. Confirm the exact construction, coating and available material option for the selected model.

Swivel, Shaft and Thread Connections

Confirm thread and seal details

The series information lists a full-flow shaft and swivel, a 90-degree balanced-pressure inlet swivel with NBR packing, and female NPT inlet and outlet threads, with other threads available on request. Buyers should confirm thread size, orientation, seal material and media compatibility for the chosen reel. Similar thread forms must not be assumed interchangeable.

Hose and Media Selection

The existing information associates PVC hose with lower-pressure configurations, SAE 100R1 AT one-wire braid hose with medium-pressure configurations, and SAE 100R2 AT two-wire braid hose with higher-pressure configurations. This is not a universal rating. Hose type, bore, length, fluid, pressure, temperature, bend radius and coupling details must be selected as one complete assembly.

Installation, Inspection and Maintenance

Mount the reel only to a structure capable of supporting the reel, hose, fluid load and operating forces. Check floor, wall or ceiling orientation against the selected model. Align the hose path with the roller guide, provide suitable upstream hose or piping allowance, inspect the swivel and hose regularly, and isolate and depressurise the system before maintenance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can one ST-Series reel be used for any media?
No. The hose, swivel, seals, threads and materials must be reviewed for the specific fluid and operating conditions.

Is the pressure shown in the table valid for every configuration?
No. Confirm the selected model and all assembly components. The lowest-rated component and application conditions govern the allowable duty.

What information is required for selection?
Provide the media, hose ID and OD, required length, pressure, temperature, connection thread, mounting position, rewind arrangement and quantity.
