Bulk Material Suction Hose 10 Bar Overview

Bulk Material Suction Hose 10 Bar is designed for suction and transfer duties involving dry materials such as cement, gravel, grain, animal feed and sand. The published construction combines an abrasion-resistant tube, textile reinforcement, helix wire support and an embedded antistatic copper wire. Final selection must match the material, transfer method, pressure or vacuum, hose size, fittings and site safety requirements.

Published Hose Construction

  • Tube: black antistatic NR blend compound with high abrasion resistance.
  • Cover: black NR blend compound described as abrasion- and weather-resistant.
  • Reinforcement: multiple layers of high-tensile synthetic cord with helix wire support.
  • Static-control feature: embedded antistatic copper wire.
  • Published temperature range: -30°C to +70°C.
  • Published safety factor: 3:1.

Understanding the 10 Bar Product Designation

The 10 bar wording identifies the product range, but it does not establish the allowable pressure for every hose size or assembled configuration. Confirm the current datasheet, actual bore, working pressure, vacuum duty, pressure surges, fittings and assembly method before use.

The Lowest-Rated Component Governs

The complete hose assembly is limited by its lowest-rated hose, coupling, clamp, flange, gasket or adapter. Do not use the hose title as a substitute for an assembly rating.

Material and Abrasion Review

Dry cement, sand, gravel and similar products can wear the hose tube at different rates. Provide particle size, density, abrasiveness, moisture content, flow rate and expected operating cycle. Inspection frequency should reflect the actual wear rate observed in service.

Food and Feed Duties Need Separate Confirmation

A reference to grain or animal feed transfer does not by itself confirm food-contact compliance, hygienic design or cleaning suitability. State the product, regulatory requirements and cleaning method so the exact hose construction can be reviewed.

Suction, Vacuum and Collapse Resistance

Helix wire supports suction service, but the allowable vacuum depends on hose size, temperature, bend, length and construction. Provide the expected vacuum and transfer arrangement; avoid sharp bends, crushing and external loads that could reduce hose stability.

Static Electricity and Grounding

Dry-material transfer can generate static electricity. The embedded copper wire is a construction feature, but continuity, bonding and grounding requirements must be defined by the site risk assessment and applicable procedure.

Verify Continuity of the Complete Assembly

If electrical continuity is required, confirm how the wire is terminated at both fittings and test the completed assembly using the specified acceptance method. Never assume continuity from the hose appearance alone.

End Connections and Installation:

Confirm hose bore, overall length, fitting or flange standard, material, clamp method and orientation. Route the hose with adequate bend radius, support and movement allowance, while keeping it away from sharp edges, vehicle traffic and hot surfaces.

Inspection and Safe Handling

Inspect for tube wear, soft spots, exposed reinforcement, broken wire, kinks, crushed sections, cover damage, leakage or loose fittings. Stop the transfer system, isolate energy and release trapped pressure or vacuum before handling. Remove a suspect assembly from service for competent assessment.

Information Required for an Engineering Review

  • Material name, particle size, density and abrasiveness
  • Moisture content and transfer method
  • Working pressure, surge and vacuum conditions
  • Material and ambient temperature range
  • Required hose bore and overall length
  • End connection type, size, material and orientation
  • Routing, bend, movement and external wear conditions
  • Grounding, continuity, hygiene, testing or documentation requirements

Send these details to Advtech Engineering for a configuration review. Confirm the exact hose and assembly against actual operating conditions before installation.
