Camlock Part F Overview
Camlock Part F is commonly configured with a male camlock adapter end and a male threaded connection. It connects a compatible female camlock coupler to threaded equipment or pipework. The exact thread standard, size, material, media and pressure conditions must be confirmed before selection.
Published Material, Size and Pressure Options
- Listed materials: Stainless Steel 316, brass, aluminium and polypropylene.
- Published size range: 1/2 inch to 6 inches.
- Published maximum operating pressure: 150 psi, subject to verification for the exact material, size, manufacturer, temperature and configuration.
Confirm the Male Thread Standard
Thread form, pitch, taper, sealing method and nominal size must match the equipment. Do not assume BSP, NPT or another standard from appearance alone; incorrect thread engagement can damage components or create leakage.
Thread Sealant Must Suit the Service
Any tape, compound or gasket used on the threaded end must be compatible with the media, temperature and site procedure. Sealant must not enter or contaminate the flow path.
Confirm the Camlock Mating Half
The adapter end must match a compatible female camlock coupler. Provide the manufacturer, series, nominal size and material where possible because similar-looking components may differ in dimensions, tolerances or rating.
Do Not Force an Incorrect Match
Both cam arms on the mating coupler should close evenly without excessive force. Do not hammer the arms or modify the adapter to make mismatched components connect.
Material and Media Compatibility
Select stainless steel 316, brass, aluminium or polypropylene only after reviewing the fluid or gas, concentration, additives, cleaning chemicals, temperature and external atmosphere. Material name alone does not confirm compatibility with every medium.
Understanding the Published 150 PSI Reference
The 150 psi value is a published product reference, not a universal rating. Allowable pressure can vary with size, material, temperature, thread engagement, gasket, mating coupling and manufacturer data.
The Lowest-Rated Component Governs
The complete assembly is limited by its lowest-rated adapter, coupling, hose, pipe, gasket, valve or threaded component. Confirm the assembled system rather than rating Part F in isolation.
Installation and Inspection
Inspect threads, adapter profile and sealing surfaces for damage, dirt, corrosion or wear. Support connected piping or hose so Part F is not exposed to excessive bending or torsional load. Before handling, isolate the system and release trapped pressure.
