Camlock Part E Overview

Camlock Part E is commonly configured with a male camlock adapter end and a hose shank. It connects a compatible female camlock coupler to a flexible hose. The exact hose bore, shank profile, attachment method, material, media and pressure conditions must be confirmed before assembly.

Published Material, Size and Pressure Options

  • Listed materials: Stainless Steel 316, brass, aluminium and polypropylene.
  • Published size range: 1/2 inch to 6 inches.
  • Published maximum operating pressure: 150 psi, subject to verification for the exact material, size, manufacturer, temperature and configuration.

Match the Hose Shank to the Hose

Confirm the hose internal diameter, wall construction, reinforcement and manufacturer-approved fitting method. The nominal hose size and coupling size may not be enough to confirm a safe mechanical fit.

Attachment Method Must Be Verified

Clamp, ferrule or other retention method must suit the hose and Part E shank. Improvised clamping can damage the hose, reduce retention or create leakage under pressure.

Confirm the Camlock Mating Half

The adapter end must match a compatible female camlock coupler. Provide the manufacturer, series, nominal size and material where possible because similar-looking components may differ in dimensions, tolerances or rating.

Do Not Force an Incorrect Match

Both cam arms on the mating coupler should close evenly without excessive force. Do not hammer the arms or modify the adapter to make mismatched components connect.

Material and Media Compatibility

Select stainless steel 316, brass, aluminium or polypropylene only after reviewing the fluid or gas, concentration, additives, cleaning chemicals, temperature and external atmosphere. The hose tube, Part E body and all seals must be compatible with the service.

Understanding the Published 150 PSI Reference

The 150 psi value is a published product reference, not a universal rating. Allowable pressure can vary with size, material, temperature, hose construction, retention method, mating coupling and manufacturer data.

The Lowest-Rated Component Governs

The complete assembly is limited by its lowest-rated Part E, hose, clamp or ferrule, coupling, gasket, valve or adapter. Confirm the assembled hose rather than rating the coupling body in isolation.

Installation and Inspection

Inspect the adapter profile, hose shank, attachment hardware and sealing surfaces for damage, dirt, corrosion or wear. Route and support the hose so the shank is not exposed to excessive bending, pull or torsional load. Isolate and depressurise before handling.

Information Required for a Part E Enquiry

  • Nominal camlock size and mating-coupler series
  • Hose bore, construction and service rating
  • Required attachment or retention method
  • Part E material
  • Media, concentration, additives and SDS
  • Working and surge pressure
  • Fluid and ambient temperature range
  • Required testing, identification and documentation

Send these details to Advtech Engineering for a configuration review. Confirm the exact Part E, hose and mating coupling before assembly and installation.
